20 Tonnes of Pride – Celebrating Diversity

Date: Category: Barton News

As we approach the end of Pride month 2020, we are excited to unveil our PRIDE wrapped Caterpillar D6 Dozer. Weighing in at circa 20 tonnes, this machine is the biggest piece of construction equipment to support Pride in the UK!

This D6 usually moves earth to prepare a construction site for further building work. Our machine is a statement to bulldozing old attitudes to build diversity in the construction industry.

The wrap was supplied and fitted by local supplier Kurt Hobbs Coach Works. Bennie have a long running relationship with Kurt Hobbs and are thrilled with the finished design. Our eagle-eyed followers will also have noticed that our website and socials have also been supporting PRIDE this month.

Bennie Operations Director, Matthew Ayres comments ‘We are making a big bold statement that everyone has the right to come to work and be celebrated for who they are. Not just at Bennie, but across construction and all places of work. We might be a small family business, but we care! If 2020 has taught us anything, it is celebrating all humans regardless should be our default. I cannot wait to see this beacon of diversity in operation across our sites in the UK.’

In celebration of Pride month, we wanted to do something to help start a conversation, drive change and showcase our support for the LGBT community. Look out for our PRIDE D6 on construction sites across the UK this summer!
